Pixels and Insenia share a picture: a year of days, each one a small square of colour. If that image appeals to you, both apps will.
They get to the colour differently. Pixels asks how your day was and lets you add emotions and notes, Insenia asks five specific questions and derives the colour from how heavy or light the day was against your own usual.
What Pixels does well
- A simple opening question, how was your day today, and one pixel per day.
- Emotions, notes, an emotion diary and stats, all shown on the site.
- Reminders under a "Never miss a day" heading, for people who want to be kept on track.
- Store badges on the site through a get link.
What Insenia does differently
- Five questions instead of one, generated for you each night and following up on what you said yesterday.
- No streaks and no "never miss a day". A skipped evening does not exist in the app's language, and the day breaks at 03:00.
- Never typed. A slider or a tap, thirty to sixty seconds.
- No account, no email, no name, answers on the phone first, works offline, export as JSON, delete in two taps.
- After about two weeks a weekly mirror and a monthly portrait describe the pattern, never advise.

Who should pick which
Pick Pixels if you want the simplest possible version: one question, one pixel, notes when you feel like it, and reminders that keep you from missing a day.
Pick Insenia if you want the colour to come from more than one question, and you do not want an app that counts what you missed. You can seeyour week in colourson the web in seven taps.
